At first glance, the true power of Brooklyn Cloaking Device is hidden. All at once there comes a wave of Brett-powered earthy aromas, a thrilling rush of cacao-like fruitiness, hints of vanilla and pineapple, a touch of acidity, underlying forest-floor funk and the powerful murmur of French oak barrels. A beautifully dry finish cuts through and leaves you wondering how we got the drop on you. This is the true power of the Cloaking Device: the element of surprise.
Cloaking Device stands as a tribute to these porters past. We brewed a strong Brett-fermented porter and aged it for nine months in French oak red wine barrels from our pals at the Larkmead Winery in California. It was then hand-bottled and re-fermented in the bottle with Champagne yeast. It is delicious, a versatile companion for food, and conducive to dreams of adventure.

Malts: 2-row, Crystal 150, Crisp Chocolate, Crisp Black, Roasted barley
Additions: Aged in French oak red wine barrels from Larkmead Winery
Hops: Summit, East Kent Golding
Yeast: Brettanomyces cultivated in our lab
Alcohol by Volume: 10.5%
Original Gravity: 21.1° Plato
Food Pairings: Barbecue, venison, dry-aged steaks, science fiction, hearty cheeses, pubs with old wood paneling, dark chocolate, fine tobacco, fireplaces, and elegance.

Apresentou coloração preta opaca com espuma marrom escura de baixa formação e pouca persistência. No aroma temos couro, terroso, baunilha, brett, pão preto, malte torrado, madeira e açúcar mascavo. Na boca as notas permanecem, complementadas por cacau em pó, figos secos e vinho tinto seco. Tem corpo médio, carbonatação amena e textura oleosa. Excelente!

Marrom, formou um creme bege mediano com boa duração;
Aroma intenso,couro, suor, bretanomicces dominam totalmente fazendo você esperar adstringência e azedume;
Sabor amargo, tostado, torrado com chocolate e final seco, sabor residual marcante amargo, café e chocolate e uma leve adstringência.
