Originally launched in 2009 as “The Goods Store IPA”, a cash conditioned beer, this was the last recipe developed by Carlow Brewing Company in the old Goods Store premises in Carlow town where the brewery was originally housed. This beer quickly gained a lot of momentum and has received excellent reviews from beer critics and the CAMRA group. This Irish Pale Ale was added to the O’Hara’s core brand range in 2010 and was voted Beer of the Year - Grand Prize Winner 2010 by the members of IrishCraftBrewers.com.
TASTING NOTES:
Description: Contemporary style I.P.A. dry hopped for extra aroma.
Appearance: Rich golden colour with a white head.
Flavours: This pale ale has a light malt base with just the right mouth feel to allow the hop character to predominate. Grapefruit like bitterness is full and lasting and is balanced by a zesty citrus burst of aroma from the late addition of cascade hops.
Aftertaste: The Citrus flavours give way at the end to the floral, spicy bitterness of Amarillo hops.
FOOD PAIRINGS:
Light fish dishes, roast pork, or blackened chicken with buffalo wings where the IPA will strengthen the spicy flavours in any dish.

Na minha opinião, foi a melhor das O'haras provadas.
Coloração dourada levemente alaranjada com espuma de boa formação e persistência. O aroma traz o lúpulo (manga e talvez maracujá), cítrico, mas também com boa base de malte, caramelo e toffe. O aroma é bem suave e agradável, típico do dry-hopping anunciado no rótulo. Na boca, presença de cereais e leve lúpulo com amargor cítrico. Predominância de dulçor caramelado e lúpulo cítrico moderado. O retrogosto é levemente amargo e medianamente persistente. Carbonatação media e corpo leve trazem refrescancia a breja.
