2001 saw Badger winning the Tesco Beer Challenge for the second time in 3 years, where Golden Glory was a unanimous favourite amongst the judges. Beating 84 other nominated ales, the distinct flavours and peachy/melon aroma of Golden Glory caught the judges attention from the outset.

Also in 2001, Golden Glory was crowed winner of the Beers and Ciders category of the prestigious Quality Food and Drink Awards.

Here the subtle addition of peach extract offered the "something extra" that the judges were looking for: "a magical ingredient setting it apart from the rest and making it spring from the glass".
